Launch of Smugmug User Group (SMUG) - Hosted by the Bebbs

I'm not sure what it is with me and photography groups, I guess I just love socializing with other photographers, hehe. After attending last year's inaugrual Pictage User Group, last night I was fortunate enough to attend the launch of the Vancouver SMUG.

Hosted by the amazing Steve & Jen Bebb, their energy really helped get the group off to a great start. They presented a very cool Animoto based slideshow of their work and passed along some good insights from their 10 very busy & productive years in the industry (500 weddings, wow!).

It was also great to have Jeff Jochum in town for the launch. It's not often one gets to hang out and chat with the CMO of such a well-known company.

It was nice to meet some of the other wedding & portrait photographers in town, and I know this group is going to explode once the word gets out! Especially now that Steve & Jen challenged Jasmine Star and her Orange County SMUG ... things are going to get interesting in a hurry, and we'll all be the better for it, pushing each other to raise our game. Follow #smug on twitter.

Cal + Victor's E-Session at Van Dusen Gardens

I'm not sure how we got lucky enough to pick the beautiful sunny day in between days of pouring rain, but Victor's attention to the weather forecast sure paid off! We spent a great afternoon with Cal & Victor at Van Dusen Gardens, taking advantage of the fall colours while they last. :)

Steve Nash - Showdown in Downtown - featuring Baron Davis!

No weddings today, so I had a chance to go check out the Showdown in Downtown where Steve Nash and celebrity friends were playing soccer at David Lam Park in Yaletown in his fundraiser benefitting children's charities on 3 continents.

Laura + Brian take the plunge!

Our wedding season wrapped up a bit earlier this year with our final wedding taking place on the Sunshine Coast. The Painted Boat Resort in Pender Harbour made for an awesome setting for an awesome couple! Laura & Brian were up to try mostly anything, including an impromptu 'trash the dress' session at the end of the night! More details and photos to follow in the days ahead, but couldn't resist putting up this teaser. Congrats you two!
